When Catharine Maria Haley married Isaac in 1830, Singer was nineteen and Haley was only fifteen. In 1835, they and their son moved to New York City, where Singer met Mary Ann Sponsler, but that's a story for another time....This lively fabric depicts a little girl and boy, representing Catharine and Isaac when they first met because they were both so young.
